A tourism apprenticeship in the trade of Food and Beverage Person is available to Food and Beverage Servers and Bartenders.
 
A Food and Beverage Person is an attendant who provides food and beverage service using interpersonal skills, product knowledge, and sales techniques to meet and exceed customers’ expectations. 
 
A tourism apprenticeship as a Food and Beverage Person will lead to a Journeyperson certificate.  To become a Food and Beverage Person Journeyperson you must:

You must currently be working as a Food and Beverage Server or Bartender to register as a tourism apprentice and pursue Journeyperson certification as a Food and Beverage Person Journeyperson.  Achieving this status usually takes two to three years.

Quick Facts
Apprenticeship is not entirely new to the tourism trades in Saskatchewan.  The Cook trade has been around for over 100 years, but Guest Services Representative and  Food and Beverage Person were not developed by tourism  sector operators until the mid-1990s.
