SIGA/STEC Apprenticeship Project
The objective of the
SIGA/STEC Apprenticeship Project is to assist
SIGA employees working in the
food and beverage services industry to acquire
Journeyperson certification. Journeypersons are an asset to any organization in the tourism sector as they provide improved levels of training for entry-level staff. This in turn leads to increased job and customer satisfaction, retention and profit, as well as the development of a learning culture within the organization.
In order to be eligible to participate in the project, participants must be employed by one of the six SIGA locations in Saskatchewan: Bear Claw Casino (Moose Mountain Provincial Park), Dakota Dunes Casino (Saskatoon), Gold Eagle Casino (North Battleford), Living Sky Casino (Swift Current), Northern Lights Casino (Prince Albert), and Painted Hand Casino (Yorkton).
Each participant must have a minimum of 3,600 hours of trade experience to qualify for the project. With this requirement met, STEC has committed to provide all additional certification, as well as to deliver the Workplace Trainer workshop.
