With emerit Wine Server training, you'll learn specialized serving techniques, develop extensive knowledge of wine production methods, and discover how to make effective wine recommendations that match customer tastes. 
 
To receive Professional Certification as a Wine Server, you must successfully complete an occupational knowledge exam, performance evaluation, and work experience.
 
Occupational Knowledge Exam: This 150-question multiple choice exam is based on the National Occupational Standard for Wine Servers.
 
Performance Evaluation: The performance evaluation is conducted on-the-job by a qualified evaluator.  It also involves the observation of certain skills during a subsequent meeting (completed at the candidate’s workplace at the most suitable time). 
 
Work Experience: You must complete at least 500 qualified hours having to do with wine, which involves sales and service in a hotel and/or restaurant or a combination of education, training, and experience having to do with wine. 
 
Prerequisites: Prior to writing the occupational knowledge exam, you must successfully complete the exam for Food and Beverage Server or Bartender
