Taxicab and Limousine Driver
 
A Taxicab and Limousine Driver is a driver for hire who takes passengers and/or goods to their destination.  Taxicab and Limousine Drivers are often the first contact for visitors to the area.  They are goodwill ambassadors who provide many important services to the community, from assisting individuals in need to reporting fires, accidents, and crime.  With emerit Taxicab and Limousine Driver training, you'll become a transportation specialist who has:

  • knowledge on how to ensure the safety of your passengers.
  • the capacity to provide a wealth of tourism information and generate an exceptional travel experience for your passengers, so they choose your service for all their transportation needs.
 
To receive Professional Certification as a Taxicab and Limousine Driver, you must successfully complete an occupational knowledge exam, performance evaluation, and work experience.
 
Occupational Knowledge Exam: This 100-question multiple choice exam is based on the National Occupational Standard for Taxicab and Limousine Drivers.
 
Performance Evaluation: The performance evaluation consists of an on-the-job observation that is performed by a qualified evaluator. 
 
Work Experience: You must complete six months or 600 qualified hours as a Taxicab or Limousine Driver prior to the performance evaluation (recommended 50 shifts). 
 
Prerequisites: It is recommended that you are certified in CPR, First Aid, and Defensive Driving.
