 Hunting Guide
 
A Hunting Guide is an environmentally conscious person who possesses the skills needed to guide clients on a safe and enjoyable hunting experience.  Hunting Guides:
 
  • provide guided tours.
  • respect and maintain their natural surroundings.
  • teach others the essential elements of hunting.
  • learn to create meaningful, safe, and enjoyable wilderness experiences.
 
With emerit Hunting Guide training, you'll build on your natural survival and leadership skills to become a sought-after guide. 
 
To receive Professional Certification as a Hunting Guide, you must successfully complete an occupational knowledge exam, performance evaluation, and work experience.
 
Occupational Knowledge Exam: This 100-question multiple choice exam is based on the National Occupational Standard for Hunting Guides.
 
Performance Evaluation: The performance evaluation is conducted by a qualified evaluator who will complete three interviews with previous clients.
 
Work Experience: You must complete 60 field days with hunting clients over a minimum of two years or at least 50 days with hunting clients, plus an additional 10 days related to outdoor guiding. 
 
Prerequisites: You must have obtained a certificate in Standard First Aid, Basic CPR, and Federal training for firearm safety.
