 Food and Beverage Manager
 
A Food and Beverage Manager directs, plans, and controls all aspects of food and beverage service in restaurants, dining rooms, hotels, resorts, convention centres, private clubs, institutions, and other similar organizations.  A Food and Beverage Manager requires:
 
  • excellent sales and customer service skills.
  • proven human resource management skills.
  • good communication and leadership skills.
 
A Food and Beverage Manager must have knowledge of products and services in the food and beverage services industry and in his or her local area, as well as be up-to-date on legislation and regulations.  With emerit Food and Beverage Manager training, you'll learn how to excel at motivating and inspiring others, while becoming efficient at a variety of operations. 
 
To receive Professional Certification as a Food and Beverage Manager, you must successfully complete an occupational knowledge exam, performance evaluation, and work experience.
 
Occupational Knowledge Exam: This 100-question multiple choice exam is based on the National Occupational Standard for Food and Beverage Managers. 
 
Performance Evaluation: The performance evaluation consists of an on-site interview by a qualified evaluator.
 
Work Experience: You must complete two years in the food and beverage services industry, with at least one year at a supervisory level.
