Ready to Work II

Ready to Work II (RTW II) will assist former participants of the Ready to Work - Tourism Careers (RTW) program in furthering their careers through supervisory training and opportunities for career advancement.

All participants will be former RTW graduates, interested in continuing to pursue a career in tourism.  Participants will receive training, coaching, and mentorship to obtain emerit Professional Certification; 60 of whom will achieve Journeyperson status in one of three tourism trades available in Saskatchewan: Food and Beverage Person, Guest Services Representative or Cook*.

In addition, participants will complete the Workplace Trainer  workshop to develop their supervisory skills.  A minimum of 25 operators, managers and/or supervisors from workplaces employing RTW II participants will also complete the Workplace Trainer workshop in support of their new hires.

The intent of RTW II is to:

  • increase economic activity in the tourism sector.
  • reward full-time employment with career advancement.
  • provide an opportunity for additional business growth in Aboriginal communities.
  • develop well-trained, experienced tourism professionals who will provide excellent experiences for both Saskatchewan residents and out-of-province visitors.

It is anticipated that RTW II will create new opportunities for RTW graduates by making available both entry-level and supervisory positions to those who successfully complete the program.
