White Bear First Nation
Location: White Bear First Nation is located in southeast Saskatchewan, near Carlyle. The community offers cultural interpretive camps and tour packages. In 1997, band member Patricia Whitebear was the recipient of the Canadian Aboriginal Tourism Award, presented by Canadian Airlines International and the Journal of Aboriginal Tourism. The award recognizes Whitebear’s outstanding contributions to the tourism sector, including the initiation of a tourism program that incorporates the Bear Claw Lodge and Convention Centre, Bear Claw Casino, and White Bear Lake Golf and Country Resort.
