Mandate
Our mandate is to promote ongoing learning, industry recognition, and professionalism in Saskatchewan’s tourism sector.
Since 1990, we have worked with tourism sector operators, supervisors, managers, employees, educators, and consultants across the province to:
- improve human resource management and training practices.
- increase the knowledge and skill level of the tourism workforce.
- encourage greater relevance of existing post-secondary education and technical training for tourism.
- reduce employee turnover and increase staff retention.
- improve the image of tourism in Saskatchewan as a viable career choice and a sector in which to develop essential workplace skills.
- contribute to a more representative tourism workforce.
- support a professional tourism workforce by developing, promoting, coordinating, and evaluating industry-managed standards, certification, career awareness, and training.
The opportunities we have had to fulfill our mandate have grown exponentially over the years, alongside the province's growing tourism sector.
