Mandate
Our mandate is to promote ongoing learning, industry recognition, and professionalism in
Saskatchewan’s tourism sector
.
Since 1990, we have worked with tourism sector operators, supervisors, managers, employees, educators, and consultants across the province to:
improve human resource management and
training
practices.
increase the knowledge and skill level of the tourism workforce.
encourage greater relevance of existing post-secondary education and technical
training
for tourism.
reduce employee turnover and increase staff retention.
improve the image of tourism in Saskatchewan as a viable career choice and a sector in which to develop essential workplace skills.
contribute to a more representative tourism workforce.
support a professional tourism workforce by developing, promoting, coordinating, and evaluating industry-managed
standards
,
certification
,
career awareness
, and
training
.
The opportunities we have had to fulfill our mandate have grown exponentially over the years, alongside the province's growing tourism sector.
